Scintillator Arrays
Scintillator arrays consist of individual crystal elements arranged in a precisely spaced matrix, typically with reflective separators between pixels to prevent optical crosstalk. This configuration allows the position of incident radiation to be determined with high spatial resolution, making arrays essential for imaging applications such as gamma cameras, PET scanners and SPECT systems. The array design also enables efficient coupling to multi-pixel photodetectors including SiPM arrays and position-sensitive PMTs.
At Advatech UK we can supply a broad range of specialist arrays based on a range of scintillator crystals including BGO, CdWO₄, CsI(Tl), GAGG(Ce), LSO(Ce), LYSO(Ce) and YSO(Ce). Each material offers a different combination of stopping power, light output, decay time and afterglow characteristics. Arrays can be customised in terms of pixel size, array dimensions, thickness, reflector material and surface finish to meet the requirements of your specific application.
Typical applications for scintillator arrays include medical imaging (SPECT, PET, CT), high-energy physics calorimetry, security screening systems, neutron imaging and industrial non-destructive testing. If you need a custom array configuration not listed below, please contact us with your specifications and we will provide a quotation.
