High-performance preamplifiers specifically designed for Silicon Photo-multipliers (SiPMs).
Silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs) are compact, rugged photosensors that are increasingly replacing traditional photomultiplier tubes in many radiation detection applications. However, SiPMs require specialised readout electronics to handle their fast signals, low operating voltage and particular bias requirements. The signal from a SiPM — a fast current pulse from multiple microcells firing simultaneously — must be amplified and shaped before it can be digitised by a multichannel analyser.
Advatech supplies Photonique SiPM (Silicon Photo-multipliers) AMP-0604 and AMP-0611 Preamplifiers. These are of a transimpedance design and are specifically tailored for use with Advatech's SiPMs and also those supplied by leading suppliers such as SensL, Hamamatsu (MCCP) and Ketek. The compact size of these preamplifiers makes them ideal for integration into portable and space-constrained detection systems.
These SiPM Preamplifiers are compact in size, allow the bias voltage to be set on the SiPM and enable the gain to be set through adjustment of the supply voltage to the board.
