Bismuth Borate (BIBO) Crystals
Bismuth Borate (BIBO) is nonlinear crystal with large effective nonlinear coefficients when compared with LBO, BBO and KDP. It is mechanically robust, inert to moisture and as a high damage threshold.

BIBO strengths include:
  • Wide transmission range from 286 to 2,500nm
  • High optical homogeneity (dn ~ 10‾⁶)
  • Large effective nonlinear coefficients LBO (c.x3.8), BBO (c.x1.7) and KDP (c.x9)
  • High damage threshold
  • Wide temperature bandwidth

BIBO applications include:
  • SHG and THG using mid/high power Nd:YAG (1064m)
  • SHG and THG using high power Nd:YAG (1342 and 1319nm)
  • OPO and OPO applications
