NBWO Scintillation Crystals
Sodium Bismuth Tungstate - NBWO - NaBi(WO₄)₂ is a relatively new scintillator material with a high density, high radiation hardness and optical qualities.

NBWO scintillator crystals strengths:
  • High stopping power due to a high density (7.57 g/cm³) and high Effective Z (74)
  • Fast (Decay Constant - 20ns)
  • Can me easily machined into various shapes and geometries

NBWO scintillator crystals have the following issues which should be noted:
  • TBA

Sodium Bismuth Tungstate - NBWO - scintillator crystals are useful in diverse applications such as:
  • Used as a Cherenkov Radiator
  • Specialist applications in high energy, nuclear, space and medical physics
